The learning environment that was created for Glenrothes College for their
HIV course was based on a constructivist rather than instructivist pedagogy.
It was built to maximise peer-to-peer networking and interactivity for
auto-didactic study.
The structure was designed to be short, modular and unitised, allowing
the moderator to lead open questions and the students to evaluate and
give feedback on all areas. A combination of media delivery systems was
used with the majority of coursework and assesment being carried out on
CD-ROM.
A website and online bulletin board were created to facilitate discussion
and provide feedback.
